چکیده
Testbed Design for Cognitive Radio Spectrum Sensing Experiments by Artem Tkachenko Master of Science in Engineering Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences University of California, Berkeley Professor Robert Brodersen, Chair In this research project, requirements for cognitive radio testbed have been analyzed. A testbed, based on Berkeley Emulation Engine (BEE2), has been developed to study spectrum sensing issues for dynamic spectrum access networks. An extensive hardware and software environment has been integrated to optimize the experimentation process. Energy, pilot, cyclostationary feature, and network detector algorithms have been implemented and analyzed. This document presents necessary steps of implementing other algorithms and simulation environments on the testbed. Professor Robert Brodersen Thesis Committee Chair

Efficient Spectrum Sensing/monitoring Methods and Testbed Development for Cognitive Radio Based Wsn
In this work, we propose an efficient spectrum sensing technique based on Doubly Cognitive Architecture (DCA) and an efficient spectrum monitoring technique based on partial spectrum sensing. In addition to this, we have developed a one of its kind testbed for Cognitive Radio-based wireless sensor network (CRWSN), where the proposed techniques are successfully implemented and tested. The testbe...
متن کاملSpectrum Sharing in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks: An FP7 CREW Use Case
Cognitive radio (CR) techniques and cognitive networks [1] aim at optimizing the use of the wireless spectrum, by observing the wireless environment and intelligently configuring radio settings and network parameters. The aim of the FP7 CREW project [2] is to establish an open federated test platform in order to facilitate experimental research on advanced spectrum sensing, CR and cognitive net...
متن کاملSpectrum Sensing Data Falsification Attack in Cognitive Radio Networks: An Analytical Model for Evaluation and Mitigation of Performance Degradation
Cognitive Radio (CR) networks enable dynamic spectrum access and can significantly improve spectral efficiency. Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) exploits the spatial diversity between CR users to increase sensing accuracy. However, in a realistic scenario, the trustworthy of CSS is vulnerable to Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification (SSDF) attack. In an SSDF attack, some malicious CR users deli...
متن کاملA Real Time Cognitive Radio Testbed for Physical and Network level Experiments
Cognitive Radios have been advanced as a technology for the opportunistic use of under-utilized spectrum. However, Primary users of the spectrum have raised concerns with regards to interference from Cognitive Radios. On the other hand, a variety of techniques have been proposed for reliable sensing and non-interfering use of the spectrum which have yet to be validated in an actual system. In t...
متن کاملPre-phase Improvement For Distributed Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks
This paper considers a pre-phase of spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks (CRNs), which is about how to choose a channel for spectrum sensing. We take the time dimension, spectrum dimension, and spacial dimension into account and propose a sense-in-order model. In this model, each node maintains four states regarding each channel, based on the neighbors’ shared information. We construct ...
